Andrew Espositio, '07
Andrew Esposito is currently a professor of international law at Jianghan University in Wuhan, China. His duties include teaching international environmental law and international human rights law and various collaboration and research responsibilities. According to Andrew, “In terms of China, the culture shock is significant, but once you get past the first month or two, it's fine. I met a wonderful woman in country just over 4 months ago. We are trying to figure out what to do about a church because Chinese law prohibits Chinese passport holders from attending western Christian churches. We do have some good fellowship in the community though.”
Andrew is grateful to his alma mater not only for the degree that it conferred upon him but also the lessons that were taught about life and about teaching. Those lessons are being put to use now as Andrew reflects on his academic career in China. “Teaching a class in English in a different country requires a lot of patience and I am glad that the rigors of my law school education taught me that.”
We wish Andrew and his loved ones the best of luck and will be praying for him as he leads by example in the East.
