Divinity Tour Registration Open
Each year Regent University students are given the opportunity to go
into the world they are encouraged to change by participating in various
study tour programs. During the spring 2014 semester, the School of
Divinity will be hosting a 13-day enriching educational experience
titled "Paul and Peter in Greece, Malta, Sicily and Italy."
From Mar. 2 to Mar. 14, 2014,
students, alumni, staff, faculty, as well as family-members and friends
of Regent and the Christian Broadcasting Network are invited to
participate in the Biblical tour. Dr. Mark Wilson, visiting professor in
the School of Divinity, will lead the trip, making stops in areas where
Paul and Peter ministered in the New Testament.
"I know students, when they return from the trips, say that they'll
never read scriptures the same way again," said Wilson. "When you're
walking in the very same places that Paul or Peter walked and begin to
read these texts—like Romans in Rome—it comes alive for you in in a
fresh and new way."
One of the immediate benefits of studying and studying within the Bible
lands of the Mediterranean area is helping bridge cultural gaps. Wilson
explains this camaraderie found in different pockets of the world during
these study tours is particularly useful to those wishing to enter the
"Here in the Divinity School, we're graduating students who will be
going into the ministry and who will be teachers and preachers. So one
of the immediate effects is that they have a real freshness in the
messages that they're bringing."
Applying students must submit a $200 deposit per application, fully
refundable until Jan. 1, 2014. Registration for the study tour will end
on Dec. 15, 2013.
