Abigail Foote was 10 years old—midway through her parents’ four-year mission in Dongguan, the capital of China’s Guangdong Province—when God called her to pursue a career in missionary medicine. “It established the way I view things,” she recalled. “I felt like missions was in my blood. I said, ‘Lord, I don't see any other future than for me to be a missionary and a doctor.’

On Saturday, the Regent University Board of Trustees voted to appoint Dr. William L. Hathaway as Provost of Regent University. Hathaway immediately assumed the position after relinquishing his post as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Regent.
